Enterprise ’99

Welcome to Enterprise '99
1998 was a year of tremendous change in Enterprise technology. The buzz of the moment is the Internet. At the same time the impact of Y2K has caused a slowdown in the Enterprise market. All these issues have been taken into account in shaping the agenda for ENTERPRISE'99, which will be held at the Inn at Spanish Bay in Carmel from May 16th to the 18th.
The Internet was a non-event at last year's conference. It is now has taken center stage. However it may not be the Internet that will make the greatest impact on the Enterprise market but its application namely E-commerce. We will debate every aspect of it this year including the enterprise infrastructure requirements.
Keynote speakers who have confirmed include John Chambers (Cisco Systems), Scott Cook (Intuit), and Ed Zander (Sun). We have also invited Hasso Plattner (SAP) back by popular demand. Panelists include Aneel Bhusri (Peoplesoft), John Chen (Sybase), Ted Fernandez (Answerthink), Bob Finnochio (Informix), Flip Flipkowski (Platinum), Mark Hoffman (Commerce One), Pat House (Seibel), Christy Jones (pcorder.com), Joe Liemandt (Trilogy), Mark Leslie (Veritas), Alan Naumann (Calico), Tom Noonan (ISS), Mike Saylor (Microstrategy), Bill Stuek (SSA), Paul Wahl (Tristrata), and Max Watson (BMC).
In keeping with the success of ENTERPRISE'98 we will not have any commercial sponsors and participants will not tout their companies. We will continue to use the instant interactive surveys that were a big hit a year ago. We were heartened that 50% of the participants brought their spouse or a guest along and we hope this year that all of you can do so. Once again the entire conference surplus will be donated to charity.
We are grateful to have an active advisory board in Erik Keller, Roger McNamee, Mike Nevens, Bill Pade and Chuck Phillips.
See you at ENTERPRISE'99
MR Rangaswami & Constantin Delivanis
