Enterprise 2004

Welcome to Enterprise 2004, the seventh annual conference for the leaders of the enterprise software industry!
Last year pundits wrote off the software industry as dying. Doom and gloom prevailed. What a difference a year makes! Most software companies closed the first quarter on a positive note, M&A activity is heating up, and the IPO window is opening.
As the industry enters a new phase of maturation and change, we decided it would be refreshing to revisit the founding principles of the software business as the theme for this year’s gathering: “Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Growth.”
With this in mind, we have developed a compelling agenda that will stimulate thought, create some controversy and generate debate. We invited speakers to provide the “customer’s perspective” on key issues. We explore the roles of today’s CTO and CISO at customer organizations to tell us what innovation means to them.
Consolidation is a reality in our industry today and we will get the inside perspective from two keynote speakers. In addition, we will provide analysis of emerging growth markets, such as China and India, and open source business models. We have a turnaround case study and the popular “Next Big Thing” session featuring the leaders of tomorrow.
After seven successful years, we are proud of the fact that the objectives of the Enterprise conference series have remained constant: candidly discuss industry issues, hear CEOs present and debate ideas, share opinions with key industry influencers, network with peers in an informal setting, and have fun.
Last but not least, we want to thank all of you for contributing to our charitable causes.
Once again, welcome to Enterprise 2004!
MR Rangaswami & Constantin Delivanis
