For those who just awoke from hibernation, Microsoft's Vista launched to consumers this week. For a while there, it got a bit difficult to hear any other software news. But by week's end, the buzz had died down and several interesting stories popped up, including speculation about another mega merger.

The official Vista consumer launch on Tuesday was met with much fanfare and of course, a few controversies.
